The Commercial Bakery

As I approached The Commercial Bakery my mouth dropped as I saw the display of mouth watering cakes in the window. The place is hard to find. You couldn’t find it unless you knew it was there. We usually come here on special occasions like ANZAC Day before the footy. This Saturday we went there not for a special occasion, rather just for fun.

I was tempted by the smell of pastry and goats cheese, and burst inside. The wall tiles were shiny and placed in rows, each a different colour. You choose because padded benches or wooden chairs. We chose the benches because we wanted to be extra comfy.

Mum and I always pick surprise juices, not wanting to pick the exact fruits. But we always have to have ginger in them.

We also ordered spanakopita, a thin pastry with cheese, egg and spinach which was just the right serving size. It was amazing how quickly the nutritious meal was placed in front of me. I tucked right in, not thinking for a second. The cheese and spinach went so well with the pastry, and was served with some salad at the side of the plate.

It was very filling, perfect for winter because of the warm mixture inside. It is also good for summer because it calms you, and you start to relax and cool down.

When I finished, I got to choose desert as a surprise for Mum and Dad. I ran outside to the cake display (you get a better view through the front window) and chose a chocolate cup with chocolate mousse inside. Mum and Dad were flabbergasted! I finished the chocolate cup sadly, but I made my way out – with my tummy smiling happily!
