Your smile at the funky haired waitress

With sweet sauce and seeds
And crispy batter enclosing it
it’s definitely what we need

Or the spicy udon
It brings warmth to the heart
It also gives great happiness
To which you are a part

Slowpoke

If you’re looking for a cafe,
Beyond all luxurious manners,
Slowpoke is the best so far,
it should be decorated with awards and banners,

And I’m sure you’ll think the same as well,
Because now you are the judge,
And I’m positive that you’ll declare,
That it’s place in the ladder won’t budge.

But now comes the desicion my friend,
Shall you step through those doors,
And welcome the lovely dishes in,
With eager, hungry jaws?

Or will you wait outside and wonder,
I wish I knew what’s in there!
And let the odour taunt you,
Wafting from the warm, welcoming air,

I guarrantee to you,
The beautiful plate of eggs
That is served to hungry shoppers,
Wanting to rest their legs,

It’s served with crispy toast and butter,
And makes a charming pair,
As the yolk erupts and dribbles down,
You needn’t care!

Or are you going simple?
A salad sandwich should do the trick,
But they’re so good they’re selling fast,
So you’d better be quick!

So go inside! Eat you full!
Drink some ginger beer!
Maybe play Sudoku-
Be yourself in here….

ALERT! I HAVE DECIDED THE BEST BREW OF 2011!
This year, on the first time at Big V, Orla Mundy has decided the best ginger beer ever to be placed on this site! The award goes to……. Slowpoke! Well done, Slowpoke! You’ve earn’t a Golden Star! This ginger beer is certainly worth trying- not only does it have a beautiful tangy flavour, it gives you a boost and makes you feel happier than ever!

Chin Chin

If you’re looking for a place to eat,
On a windy day, cold and wet,
I can recommend to you an experience,
In which you will never forget,

A cosy place called Chin Chin,
Tucked away in the busy streets,
Bursting full of mouth-watering meals,
And lovely, delectable treats,

If you’re wanting a small snack,
Something you can munch,
I present to you the chunky fritter
That gives a satisfying crunch,

Or maybe you’re after a spicy dish,
That warms up your tummy,
A little plate of cute spring rolls,
Will be made perfectly scrummy,

But wait! Let’s have a look at the mains,
Something healthy and light,
A little pot of tofu and veggies,
Will do you just right!

Quick! Before you get too full,
Dessert is on it’s way,
3 layers of coconut with lovely sweet jelly,
Has something to say,

So soon the meal is over,
You look longingly at the rest,
But although you can’t stay for more,
CHIN CHIN IS THE BEST!

Taco Truck

Take a look at these little fellas!
These yummy little critters were bought in the Taco Truck, a heavenly truck made by the owners of the Beat Box kitchen. It moves around all over the place. This time we found it just down the road from ArtPlay. Doesn’t your mouth just water looking at them? They are the potato taco topped with salad and ricotta. Have fun eating at more cool places!

Bread & Butter. Let’s pretend this is healthy

The 2011 dessert award has earnt another contestant – a beautiful little shop called ‘Bread and Butter’. We went to the one in Swanston Street in the City.

We had to do a taste test of their wonderful sweeties, two puffy little buns – one chocolate and one coconut.

They were beautifully baked and lovely, and we also had them in the waiting line for …  you’ll never guess it …  The List Operators! See my new blog, ARTISTICALL, for details.

I think we’ve got a pretty hard choice for this year for 2011 Dessert of the Year.

Miss Chu

Miss Chu, Miss Chu,

Suited for you,

Mushrooms, noodles, fresh and new,

Miss Chu, Miss Chu,

Vegies and stew,

Rice Paper rolls, onto your spoon,

As the beautiful smell reaches my nose,

“I’ll have a plate of rice with those”

I jot down my order on a page of treats,

And place my order on the completed sheets,

Before you can say “Miss Chu” twice,

Along comes a plate that looks and smells nice,

I tuck into the eyepopping meal,

You want a good dish? It’s a deal!

Miss Chu, Miss Chu,

Suited for you,

Mushrooms, noodles, fresh and new,

Miss Chu, Miss Chu,

Vegies and stew,

Rice Paper rolls, onto your spoon,

If you want a boost for the night,

Miss Chu is guaranteed alright,

Have a drink, eat ’till you burst

Nothing’s bad, it’s not the worst,

If you need a bit of a lift,

A move, a shuffle, a cheer-up, a shift,

Then Miss Chu will be happy to feed you,

With noodles, rolls, mushrooms and stew

Just say-

Miss Chu, Miss Chu,

Suited for you,

Mushrooms, noodles, fresh and new,

Miss Chu, Miss Chu,

Vegies and stew,

Rice Paper rolls, onto your spoon,

Well, just say-

Miss Chu, Miss Chu,

Suited for you,

Miss Chu, Miss Chu,

Vegies and stew,

Rice Paper rolls, onto your spoon!

Bike and skate park. Cool Geelong #5

I swigged down my fizzy drink as I strapped on my helmet and clipped on a warm jacket. This was going to be COOl! I took off, watching the cars and trees zoom by, feeling the warm sunset on my face. I had been to a lot of skate parks in my life, but I was feeling extra excited as I cycled to the waterfront to try out some new tricks I had been reading about in some of my sporty books.

I held my breath as I approached the gleaming seaside of the waterfront and saw kids leaping and twisting with their BMXs and scooters on the hard, slippery concrete jumps. I gulped.

“Have fun!”said Mum.

The last time I was at the Waterfront, I was roller-skating, and I have to admit that that wasn’t as confronting as this, but at least I was having fun!

I tried the easy step at the start – it looked really easy – really really easy …

I poised above it, looking at it anxiously. Now that I looked at it closer, the ground seemed much more low than I thought. Then I scowled and told myself I was a  BIG,GROWNUP…. um … I paused for a moment – RACER!  Yes, a racer.I gripped my handlebars and-

THUD!

THUD!

BANG!

Hmmm … not very, um, elegant …  well never mind … I’d had enough of the step and all my tricks anyway, and I was ready to have some dinner!

I forgot to tell you about Burger Inc! Well, here goes..

When you walk into Burger Inc,one of the best Burger shops ever to have laid your eyes upon, it’s like walking through the gates of heaven. Golden chips, juicy juices and BIG, HYPNOTISING, YUMMY burgers … are all reflecting in my eyes. It’s like I’m being drawn into a kind of shock … and then it all comes to me as I  bite into the burger. My favourite is the mushroom burger with rocket and tomato.

This is all how nice it feels and how ace you’ll feel if you have a good old ride at The Waterfront Skate Park!!!!!

Darac Grill and Bar

I remember the time we had a little coffee shop under our office in Melbourne which we almost always used to go to in the mornings to give us a little pep up ready for the big day ahead.

Well, it’s exactly the same with our new office, except it’s actually a cute Japanese/Korean restaurant named Darac that we go to very often when we feel like a little cheering up – or for even more content-feeding up!

When you get there, a warm aroma greets you as a waiter invites you to a table. It’s as if you’ve entered a kingdom of food! The waiter hands you a menu, but don’t open your mouth to order at lunch, because instead you get these tittle slips of paper with all the meals listed on them and you tick off what you would like, then give them the paper.

But that’s not all!

The food is spectacular. Absolutely spectacular! And the only downside is that you don’t know what to order firstly (probably because all the food is so good!)! Maybe the slippery, gorgeous noodles take your fancy? Or the top favorite Agadashi tofu?

Find out at this wonderful dream – restaurant in Melbourne! Hope to see you there!

Panny Thai-rific

Mum took me for a trip to Panny Thai in Pakington Street. She was having a lazy night from cooking.

CHORUS

Why I chose old panny thai,
I’ll never know, I’ll never know why
But just all go thai, for goodness sakes
Forget the bad stuff, forget the fakes
Panny, panny, panny, thai

Panny, panny, panny, thai
All the bad foods, it’s a brief goodbye
Veggies fried in soy sauce
Noodles with pad thai of course
Panny, panny, panny thai

CHORUS

Why I chose old panny thai,
I’ll never know, I’ll never know why
But just all go thai, for goodness sakes
Forget the bad stuff, forget the fakes
Panny, panny, panny, thai

I don’t have a problem with old panny thai
It’s the best thing you could ever try,
Veggies in oodles,
Clump of noodles,
Never forget old panny Thai

CHORUS

Why I chose old panny thai,
I’ll never know, I’ll never know why
But just all go thai, for goodness sakes
Forget the bad stuff, forget the fakes
Panny, panny, panny, thai

Panny, panny
Panny, panny
Panny, panny
Panny thai!
